Worked examples
- Secondary, meets both rules: 60 in Gen Ed, 80 in Prof Ed, and 80 in Specialization gives 12 + 32 + 32 = 76%.
- Elementary, just short: 70 in Gen Ed and 78 in Prof Ed gives 28 + 46.8 = 74.8%.
- Secondary, below the floor: 48, 90, and 90 averages 81.6%, but 48 is under the 50% floor.
LET score FAQ
- How is the LET rating computed?
- Each paper's rating is multiplied by its weight, then added. Elementary is 40% General Education and 60% Professional Education. Secondary is 20% General Education, 40% Professional Education, and 40% Specialization.
- Can I pass with a 75% average but a low paper?
- No. You also need at least 50% in every paper. A Secondary examinee with 48, 90, and 90 averages 81.6% but is below the floor in General Education.
- Is this my official rating?
- No. This calculator only does the arithmetic on the numbers you enter. It cannot predict a result, and your official rating comes from PRC.
- Does this work for BSNEd and BECEd?
- Not yet. PRC has those examinees take a specialization paper as well, so confirm how those papers are weighted with PRC. The Elementary option here covers General Education and Professional Education only.
